National Emergency Meeting
Since this UK Government has demonstrated no regard to peoples’s rights to have a say in what happens to their local environment, by circumventing and changing planning laws, the threat of fracking to local communities is becoming ever closer and the chance of stopping it by popular local consent diminished.
As this arises with the permission by Central Government for Cuadrilla to frack at the Preston New Road site in Lancashire despite local people’s and Council opposition, a National Emergency meeting has been called in London at The Friends Meeting House, Euston Road on Sat. 4th Aug. 2018. (9am -5pm).
We intend to be at this meeting and will suggest that the time has come to use the mass opposition to this fracking process by peaceful, non-harmful means but using ingenuity and acting unexpectedly. A National Sticker Campaign by all the organisations against fracking in full view of the voting public is a first stage suggestion and will be proposed at the meeting.
